Telescoping Image

When I saw Beate do this technique I new that I would have to try it on my sisters card.  You can find the instructions Here on her blog.

I used Inkadinkado's Beauty Stems from Here stamp set, it has been colored with pencils and the shading was done with Colorbox Robin's egg ink

My minds eye  A Beautiful life paper

Spellbinders classic oval large and Floral ovals dies

The lace, flower and pin were all given to me from Sabrina .  I added the extra beads on the pin to match my purple theme I had going :)

Here is a little better shot of the dimension using the foam adheasive between the layers...  I found I don't have too many images that I felt is good for this technique, may have to go stamp shopping just for that :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend!!!

RainyDayScAug.2012

Susan had another sketch for this month and I thought it would work perfectly for the card I wanted to make for my hubby's Uncle who is recovering from a triple by pass surgery.  I had to do the sketch a little different to accomadate my larger image though.  You can find the sketch Here on her blog.

The image is from a Thomas Kinkade Painter of Light Daily Calendar.  I thought this was a nice soothing image.  It has been layered onto a grey cardstock.

Base cardstock is from Paper co.
Sentiment stamp from KaiserCraft has been put on kraft cardstock.
Fiskar border punch, inking.
Inkadinkado Butterfly stamp
Spellbinders Circles die

Going to a funeral today, Greg's bosses wife died from cancer, she was 2 years younger than me, it is so sad to see the young teens and young adults trying to cope with it all.  Reminds you of how precious every second you have with your family is.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend,

Praying.....

We have a gentleman at our church that is going through alot of surgeries trying to cut out the cancer that is inside of him on his pelvic bone.  Just found out yesterday that he may have another cancer along with that one that they may not be able to treat.  He has good faith in the Lord and I wanted him to know that we are praying for him.

Even though I don't know who the maker of this stamp is, I purchased it at a flea market, it is my go to stamp when I want to let people know we are praying for them.  I added a twill tab to the side with a brad.
The paper is DCWV Rustic Stack
Sweet n sassy sentiment

I also wanted to send this verse to him so I decided to put it on the inside of the card.

Our Daily Bread designs Scripture Collection 1 stamp set for the sentiment

Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste paper

I still have the lingers of a very bad cold but I am feeling well enough now to make cards so that is nice, I have some catching up that needs to be done.

Hope your enjoying your week,

Quilted Table Runner

Well this started out to be a Mug Rug, well putting it together it looked bigger than a placemat but not quite big enough to be a table runner, but that is what I am calling it.

Ok so I know your not suppose to pick out your faults but that is just the way I am...LOL!  I could not get the centers to match up, the sides were perfect but that center, oh did it give me troubles, I finally just went with it, not that it is all done I am thinking maybe if I had turned the blocks maybe, but I am not about to tear it apart again, will just have to set something in the center to cover it up :)

Here is a close up of the front and the machine quilting I did.  I saw somewhere that you cut your shapes you want to quilt out of wax paper, iron them to the quilt and do your machine quilting around it.  Well that may be a good idea for someone that has had a lot of practice machine quilting, this is only my second attempt at it and that was quite awhile ago.  I usually hand quilt but didn't want to take out that much time.

You can see the quilting I did of the leaves on the back a little easier than the front, I wanted something that could be for fall so I thought an oak leaf was a good choice, I had a template for one allready so that worked out nice.

If you would like to attempt something like this, I found the idea on Pintrest you can find it Here .
She has a link to where the actual instructions are.  I used 1 1/2 inch squares on mine.

It was nice to quilt again, and these small projects are just the right size to not be too overwhelming but lets me do what I love!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Connie

Tosha Inspired

Tosha did a card you can find it here . I liked the layout and needed a masculine card.  Here is what I came up with.

All papers are from My Mind's Eye Paris &co. paper pad, except for the green dotted piece, and that was in my pile of scraps so not sure who that is from.  All the pieces were layered onto craft cardstock.

The sentiment piece was cut out using the Spellbinder Labels Seven die.
Studio G sentiment stamp on top of an Inkadinkado leaf flourish, inked around the edges.

The dragonfly stamp is from Purple Daisy Designs and I used the EK success punch to punch it out.
Patina Stickles were added to the wings and the dragonfly is on foam adhesive.

My daughter is coming today and will stay the weekend while her hubby goes out of town for a wedding, our last girl time together before her move to Boston.

Time to Celebrate

My son in law celebrated his Birthday last week and this is the card I made for him.

DCWV Tattered time paper pack

Clock face from Li'l Davis Designs, mounted on black cardstock, added distress inks
Tim Holtz memo pins were used for the hands and I hand wrote the "time to"  and slipped them into the memo pins, I had to (ok my hubby) cut down the memo pins so the hands didn't go over the clock face :)
Studio G celebrate sentiment
Pebbles Glitter candy dots

We had a nice rain storm last night, of course you wouldn't be able to tell now that it rained but I am sure it was able to soak in pretty good, we are still very far behind on the rain we need, thankful for every little drop we get.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend,

ODBDSLC118

Our Daily Bread Designs challenge for this week was to use Scripture on your card. You can find out all the details and great inspiration on their blog HERE .

Our Youth Pastor and his wife are moving back to his home town to work in areas that have been effected by the bad economy.  He will be truly missed in our Church.  This is the card I made for their going away and liked this verse for the big change in his work that God has lead him to do.

Our Daily Bread Designs-- The Mighty Sea stamp set for the Verse

Spellbinder Cross Collection die set, used Black Cardstock for the base cross and for the one I popped on top of it I used Grafix's Metallic Foil Board

Spellbinder Labels Nine, to get the black matting I just traced outside the die and cut it out free hand
Spellbinder Deckle Rectangles for the verse

EK Success Nostalgiques, Attic Collection paper

The corner stickers were gold to start out with as well as the charm on the verse, so I used Adirondack Silver Alcohol ink Mixatives on them so they would better match the cross.

We had a Beautiful morning, mostly cloudy and 69 degrees so I just had to get out there and walk first thing, oh how I love cool mornings!!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tuesday Trigger

Moxie Fab World has another Tuesday Trigger and this time I actually had time to play along :) You can find it Here .

Here is the inspiration photo:

and here is what I came up with:

For the typewriter I used the Cricut Heritage Cartridege, I didn't want it floating in space so I tried to make a table for it to sit on.  I used Tim Hotlz's Woodgrain embossing folder and Walnut stain ink to give it that wood look.   I used the same cartridge for the piece of Parchment and did a little inking along the edges for aging.  Stamped a Studio G sentiment stamp for my greeting.

I went with this Cosmo Cricket, Fleuriste paper to mimic the colored keys on the typewriter, the paper had a bit of a distress background already so I just did a bit more distressing along the edges and added a bit more ink around the edges too.

You have until this Sunday August 12th to give this a try.

We were blessed with a little more rain again, things are starting to get a little more green to them, that is so nice to see.

Hope you enjoyed a great weekend and that the week ahead brings wonderful things,

Well we are getting our warm temps back into the 100's but now we have the added high humidity which makes it feel even hotter, but I think that has got to be helping the gardens and farm fields, at least I hope so.

My niece is stopping in today on her way back to Texas and we are going to meet for lunch, look forward to seeing her.
Hope your enjoying your week,
