Vellum Diecuts

Tags, corners, bee, and music strip at the bottom are all out of the K&co. Flora and Fauna Vellum Die Cut Kit.

Basic Grey Basics Kraft paper pad and Brad on tag

On the little tag that says "wonder" I added a cardstock egg over the vellum egg that was already on the tag to give a little more dimension but you can't really see that, the bee is popped too.

Beauitful sunny morning here, hope your all enjoying a wonderful start to your weekend,

Sweet 16

I have been following Laurie over at Just Give me Stamps for quite a few years and she requested that we make her daughter a 16th Birthday card.  Her daughter has gone through alot and she just could use some extra encouragement at this time.  If you would like to read about it you can find it here.

Laurie mentioned on the post right after the one in the link above that her daughter likes purple, well what goes good with purple then green, so that is the colors I picked to use.

I had just purchased this stamp set from Studio G and it was sitting on my desk waiting to be put away and I thought why not use it before I put it away :)

Spellbinder Classic Rectangle Lg and  Lattice Rectangle dies

I loved the little banner that came in this stamp set and decided to write in the 16 on the banner. The image was colored with markers.

Across the top I used a Martha Stewart border punch and added the sentiment with Sticopotamus Mini Brush letter stickers and hand stitched it to the card with floss

The big purple ribbon was on a gift so I decided to do a little recycling :)

K&co. paper

I managed to get more weeding done today, they are growing faster than I can get to them, and the lawn needs mowed again, we are suppose to get more rain this week so I imagine it will be needing mowing a couple times in a week here for awhile.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and I  really appreciate all the nice comments,
Connie

Birthday Blessings

I finally tried to make a rolled flower. I cut out the circle using Fiskar cloud scissor and then cut out the rest with straight scissor.

Prima-Alla prima collection paper stack
Black cardstock for all the layering
Our Daily Bread designs Happy Birthday stamp set for sentiment
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch w/ star dust stickles and platinum pearl liquid pearls
Spellbinder Long Classic Rectangles small dies
Little flowers are from a punch at the $ spot at Michaels w/ vintage photo distress stickles centers
Cherry Lynn designs Fanciful flourish die

I liked the way the flower turned out, but I was just thankful I hand delivered this one because there is no way it would have went through the post in an envelope it was too high.

My daughter bought me the Bitty blossoms die from spellbinders for my birthday so I am excited to give that a try and see how high they will be.

Thanks so much for taking the time out to stop by,
Hope your having a nice spring day :)

Spring Wreath

How many of you are on Pinterest?  Oh my it's not bad enough that looking at blogs and such kept me on the computer too long, now I have Pinterest to look at.

I found this wreath here through Pinterest and just fell in love. Of course none of my craft stores here in town sold the yarn, I went on Jo-Anns.com and they do sell it but it was out of stock at the time, but luckily one of the craftying ladies in my craft group had some and she offered to give them to me. Hurrah!!   It calls for an 8" wreath but I went with 12".  I used a little more than one skein of yarn on the 12" wreath.

On her wreath she used ribbon flowers and just cut them apart.  I used my EK Success punch and I couldn't find the color pink pins I wanted so I colored my white pins that I had for my quilting, with a pink prismacolor marker.  I tried to use some alcohol inks I had but they came out too dark for my taste, but I used 2 of them on the wreath.  I also punched out butterflies from Martha Stewart and added them to the wreath with yellow pins :)

My daughter and her hubby are here for a few days to celebrate my birthday, so nice that it is the same time they were on spring break.  Today we were planning on going to the Botanical garden since all the trees are blooming around here but even though the forecast said 20% rain it has been raining and thunder and lightning all morning, so I guess we are going to have to find an indoor thing to do.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend,
Thanks so much for stopping by,

My Birthday

Yes today is my Birthday and my Hubby gave me this card.  He said while I was at Craft night last night he was in my room making my card.

He said he didn't write down what he used on the card like I do, LOL.  He said he didn't realize that you had to have a certain size cardstock in order to have the sides match up perfectly on the punch around the page punch (Martha Stewart) , so that is why the bigger butterflies (Martha Stewart) are hanging out around the border :)

The sentiment stamp and the cake stamp were both right on top of the first drawer he opened so that is what he used, and he said he colored the cake with colored pencils.  He used some K& co. paper to punch out all the flowers (Martha Stewart) and butterflies. Added stickles to them too.  He said he didn't like how everything was blending in to the cardstock so he added pencil lines around all the punches.

We are having a beautiful day so far but it looks like it is clouding up, I really need to get outside and get some more weeding done that I started yesterday, don't want to do too much or I will end up throwing out my back again.

Hope your having a good day, Thanks so much for taking out the time to stop by,
Connie

Masculine B-day

I have been seeing some hot air balloon cards for guys that look pretty neat, so I went into my stash of calendar die cuts I have and found this balloon.

The papers were in my scraps drawer, so I am sorry I don't know who they are from.
Clouds and grass punches from Fiskar, with a little Copic grey on clouds
buttons from flea market w/floss
My sentiments exactly-sentiment stamp

We are having a partly sunny day today but it is quite windy once again, we are suppose to get up to like 78 today, hope to be able to open some windows and doors to let some fresh air in :)

Hope you had a relaxing weekend, and that your week ahead is a wonderful one!

So Sorry...

My sister and brother in law both lost close friends all in the same month, one of them was out of the blue.

Stampendous Sincere sentiments stamp set w/ Inkssentials Black Enamel accents under
Studio G for the flowers and butterfly
Flowers stamped with desert sand and black memento ink
stamped the butterfly in white onto black cardstock, thought it needed more definition after gluing it to the kraft cardstock so I added Signa white ink pen to it
shading around the image panel and base kraft cardstock was done using Vintage photo, Tea Dye and Black Soot Distress inks
Best Occasions Mixed Media Paper pack

After the gloom and chill of yesterday (temps in the 40's) today it is nice to see the sun shining bright again! Nice start to the weekend.  Hope your day is sunny and bright too!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Easter

Do you remember the challenge to stamp and then emboss the background I did I think last week, well this time I took Miss Elizabeth's Glitter stickers ($ store)  and applied them all around a rectangle piece of cardstock and then cut it out with a Spellbinder Labels 8 die.

I then embossed it with my cuttlebug Moroccan Screen embossing folder.
Spellbinder Ribbon banners die
Studio G sentiment stamp
Queen & co. Irridescent Rhinestones

We have had some warmer days, but the wind has been so strong it is hard to enjoy it.  I took Peanut to get her nails cut yesterday and took her to the dog park afterwards for a reward and she didn't stay very long, I think the wind was spooking her at times.

Hope your week is going well,

Bog Hop Winner

Tosh had a Purge Blog Hop back in January and guess who won some new paper.... yep you guessed it.  I felt like it was Christmas when I recieved my package and still do, I didn't have any of the papers either so that is so cool.  Some are Christmas so really I don't need to buy anymore paper for ever probably ;-)

I sent this card to Tosh, of course made out of the paper she sent, isn't this the cutest image and there were more on the sheet to use!

The paper, image and postcard are all from Graphic 45 once upon a springtime paper pack.
Fiskar border punch, used the little flower punch outs from the border to add to the leaf ribbon I bought at my LSS.
Reminisce Sentiment sticker
added Queen &co Sunflower yellow rhinestone to the center of the flower
Diamond stickles were added to the wings of the Fairies

As you can see by this picture of the box I received, it is going to be very hard for me to convince my husband that I need to buy anymore paper.

We were suppose to have storms rolling through today but so far we just have over cast skies, hope it stays that way I really need to make a trip to the grocery store.

Oh and an update on those nightstands, I was able to get two and they were in pretty good shape too, my husband said he wants to start using his now, so I guess I will just redo the one I bought for my craft/guest room, still haven't decided what I will do with it, but it is fun looking around for ideas, I will share as soon as I get it done.

Hope you have a Wonderful weekend, full of creativity!
