Love

I was busy the last couple of days, managed to make 5 Valentine cards to take to our church sale tomorrow.

Studio G image and sentiment stamps, the image was stamped onto Tim Holtz Vintage shabby paper.
Spellbinder Circle, Floral doily motifs and Foliage dies.
Base paper, button and big flower are from Colorbok
two small flowers are from Wilton (think I found those at the $ store)

Beautiful sunny day today, hopefully we can get out again for another walk, yesterday was a bit gloomy but the wind wasn't blowing so it was a more enjoyable walk yesterday.  Poor Peanut must be having problems because she was all excited to go when we got back, so we took her out but she didn't make it very far, stopped and turned around to go back home.

Hope your enjoying a wonderful weekend,

Solid Rock

No I did not color this image, for my daily calendar this year I bought Thomas Kinkade's and used this Split rock light image.  A man at church fell off of a 12 foot ladder and was hospitalized for quite some time and is still recovering at home, so I thought this was a good image for the occassion.

I made a frame for the image using Spellbinders Labels 8 die, this was my first attempt at making a frame using two dies.

The paper is K&co.

The sentiment is a Pebbles Inc. Rub on.  Martha Stewart border punch was used on the end of the tag.

Beautiful, sunny day today, have taken the dog on a short walk, she must be hurting today she couldn't make it very far.

Hope your enjoying a nice day,

Mailing Letters

When I saw this stamp from Stampavie - Tina Wenke - Mailing letters, I thought this would be great for any occasion that you want to say your sending wishes.  This one went to a lady in our Bible study group that has really bad pain in her hip, sending get well wishes.

I colored the image with markers, I really need some good ones, I am using ones that my husband gave me that he used for his drawings and they are starting to go dry, but I just can't afford those copics, may have to invest in a good set of colored pencils.

Spellbinder Square and Lacy Square dies

We had freezing rain yesterday, shut down some roads in St. Louis they were saying last night, the commute was quite crazy after work yesterday, thankfully we didn't have to go out in it.  I hope if you are from the East Coast and Chicago area that you are able to dig out from all the snow you recieved.

Reflection

I can't remember if this is called reflection technique or not, but I tried this a few months ago and ended up doing something else for the person and just came across it again the other day.

The stamp is from Stampin up, I colored it using Distress inks and shading with distress inks, the paper really curled when I did this, may have used a bit too much water with it on the sky and water.

DCWV Tattered Time paper pack
Hero Arts Birthday messages stamp sentiment onto a ticket from the same DCWV paper pack. Used a paper clip to attach it.

Adventure

My nephew is a big outdoors guy, he has land that he hunts deer for his family and friends.

The paper is from HOTP  Sarabooks Ivory papers.

Hot off the press Dazzles- Great outdoors sticker set, I love how these look like embossing.
Very quick card.

We had a big storm go through last night, thunder, lightening, hail, rain, tornado warnings, just crazy weather for January.  Now the temps are dropping quickly, I woke up to it being 48 degrees and now it is 37.

Hope if you were in the line of any of these storms you made it through ok.

Carefree

The bike is made from the Cricut Just Because cards cartridge, tree is from Cricut Stretch your imagination cartridge.

Fiskar Grass border punch. Two different green cardstocks

Sky paper is from the DCWV travel scrapbook kit in a stack paper pack

Sentiment and flowers are from the Hero Arts Birthday messages stamp set.

Now that I look at it I should have added something more to the grass bit, it just looks to plain to me.  I guess that is what I get for making my cards just in enough time to get them out in the mail, if they laid around for a day or so I might realize that before sending them, well hopefully my great neice thought it was neat.

The temperature says 50, but it doesn't feel like it, with the clouds it just makes it feel like a cooler day, but I am not complaining.

Hope you all have a great week,

Medallions

Decided to finally try making some flowers using the Fiskar border punch, the scoring was done on Martha Stewart scoreboard at every 1/4 inch.  I didn't write down the sizes of the strips of papers I used but I did use three different sizes, on the cream one at the top I also used some Gold Mist spray to give it a bit more color.

Banner Birthday

I can't find the paper were I wrote down all the details about this card, so maybe I didn't write anything out at all.

I believe this paper is from a $ store paper pack.
The Banner was made using the Hero arts banner stamps, onto paper I had in my scraps pile.
The silver embellishments are  stickers.
The #8 is also a sticker.

Yesterday I finally put away all my Christmas decorations, I have a collection of snowmen that I put out for the month of January and I almost have that just like I want it.  I like having a transition from all the christmas decorations into winter theme decorations, if I didn't have that it would be just to bare for me.  My cats so enjoyed sleeping under the Christmas tree so they are a bit bummed.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and that the week ahead is a good one too!

Stitched Pillow

I made this pillow for my girlfriend. I tea dyed the muslin before stitching. I drew out the image on paper then taped it to my light box, put the muslin over it and taped that down and went over the lines with a pencil.  Then I stitched in different DMC colors of floss, using backstitch and french knots for the berries.  The date is when they were married.  I tried to sketch their farm house, I was going to try and draw their horses around the fence part but decided they wouldn't look like horses so I might as well leave them out.

I was going for that country/folkart feel to this.

We had Beautiful weather yesterday, broke our record for high temps, sounds like most of the country did.  We took down our Christmas lights and decorations outside and took a walk.  My hubby mowed the back yard while I took down decorations in the house and then we grilled out for supper.... I just love it when we can get a nice break from winter :)

Wishing you all a Lovely weekend,
Connie

The kids had to head back home yesterday, both of them had to go back to work today, the house always seems so quiet after they leave.  Loved hearing my daughters laughter she is a happy girl and that makes her Momma very happy too :)  Just before they were leaving they were in the bed room packing up their things and I could hear her laughing and I said Oh I want to remember that laugh and then I broke down and cried, guess I am still getting use to her being on her own.

Hope your new year is starting off well,

Get Well

I can't remember the techniques name but I was positive I saw this on Beate's Blog but for the life of me I can't find it and  I can't remember it's name, but you cut the outside of the image and then place the spellbinder die so that you cut around it..... don't know if you understood that at all, so I will just have to show you my results, first time trying the technique so I didn't go all out, will have to try it again sometime going a bit bigger.
